昭和20年(1945年)8月15日、日本は連合国に降伏しました。そのため今日、戦没者の追悼式典が行われます。しかし、その日に第二次世界大戦のすべての戦いが終わったわけではありません。ソ連軍は依然として千島列島への侵攻を続けていました。

On August fifteenth, 1945, Japan surrendered to the United Nations. Therefore, we hold commemoration services for the casualties today. However, all battles of World War II did not end on that day. Soviet forces still kept invading the Kuril Islands.
