落語を通して仏教に親しむ企画「銀座の落語寺」が3月22日、築地本願寺GINZAサロンで開催されました。ご来場そしてご覧頂きありがとうございます。
まずは、古今亭志ん雀師匠に落語「だくだく」を演じて頂きました。このような話です：ある男は貧しいのですが金持ちのように暮らしたいと思って、家の壁に家具を描いてもらいました。ある夜、泥棒が家に入りました。泥棒は家具を盗もうとしますが、絵なので盗めません。そこで泥棒は家からお宝を盗むふりをしました。住人は起き上がって、実際には槍を持ってませんが持って泥棒と戦うふりをしました。
次に、私が想像力の話をしました。落語の中で二人はお宝を想像していました。2人とも楽観的です。楽観主義は人をポジティブ、悲観主義は人をネガティブにします。しかし、私たちは常に楽観的でいられるわけではありません。楽観的であろうとしてもできないことがあります。何もできない状況に遭遇することもあります。そんなときは、成り行きに任せた方が良いのです。仏教の教えでは、仏の導きは至る所に届いています。ということは、成り行きに任せるということは、仏に任せるということになります。もちろん努力は必要ですが、成り行きに任せることも大切です。

On March 22, we held "Ginza-no-Rakugodera", an event to like Buddhism through Rakugo at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon. Thank you for coming and watching it.
First, Mr. KOKONTEI Shinjaku performed a Rakugo "Daku-Daku" (An onomatopoeia of flowing liquid). The story is below: A man wanted to live surrounded by rich furniture though he was in poverty. So, he got furniture painted on the wall of his house by a painter. One night, a thief came into the house. The thief tried to steal the furniture, but he didn't because the furniture was pictures. Then, the thief pretended to steal treasures from the house. The resident got up and pretended to fight against the thief with a spear though he didn't have one.
Next, I talked about imagination. In the Rakugo, both the two imagined treasures. They were optimistic. Optimism makes us more positive, while pessimism makes us more negative. However, we are not always optimistic. We can be pessimistic even though we try to be optimistic. We can encounter situations in which we cannot do anything. In such situations, we should let the matter take its course. Buddhism teaches us that Buddha's enlightenment spreads out anywhere. Thus, letting the matter take its course means leaving it to Buddha. Of course, the effort is necessary, but letting the matter take its course is also essential.
