「ありのままの姿」について考えよう Let's think about "as is"

5月19日、落語を通して仏教に親しむイベント「おてらくごのススメ」が、築地本願寺銀座サロンで開かれます。19時開演です。

今回は古今亭志ん吉さんに落語「熊の皮」を演じて頂きます。落語の後、私が「ありのままの姿」についてお話します。

On May 19, "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" will be held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon. This is an event to like Buddhism though rakugo, Japanese traditional comic storytelling. It will begin at 7:00 p.m.

First, Mr. KOKONTEI Shinkichi will perform a rakugo "Kuma No Kawa" (A bear fur). Next, I will talk about "as is".

The venue is the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon at Ginza, Tokyo. It will begin at 7:00 p.m.
You can make the reservations by telephone (0120-792-048), E-mail ( ginzasalom@tsukijihogwanji.jp ) or the web site of the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon.

I hope that the new coronavirus will come to an end soon.

『築地本願寺新報』リニューアルです！ "Tsukiji Hongwanji Shinpo" has been revamped!

It is April 1 today, but this post is not April fools day.

築地本願寺の月刊誌『築地本願寺新報』が4月号でリニューアルされました。
Tsukiji Hongwanji temple publishes a monthly magazine, "Tsukiji Hongwanji Shinpo". The magazine has been revamped with the April issue.

『東京かわら版』4月号で『ブッダの小ばなし』が紹介されています The April issue of Tokyo Kawaraban" introduces "Buddha no Kobanashi"(Short Humor Stories by Buddha)

月刊誌『東京かわら版』4月号の「2019年に出版された演芸本リスト」で、『ブッダの小ばなし』が紹介されています。ありがたいことです。
The April issue of "Tokyo Kawaraban", a monthly magazine on Japanese traditional vaudeville performances has been delivered to me. Pages of "The list of books on Japanese traditional vaudeville performances which were published in 2019" introduces "Buddha no Kobanashi"(Short Humor Stories by Buddha). I appreciate it so much.

「100日後に死ぬワニ」、完結後すぐに商品化の企画が次々に発表されました。それに対して、批判的な意見がかなり見られます。私は、商品化自体は問題ないと思います。しかし、一連の企画には、ワニの死を悼む姿勢が感じられないことが問題だと思います。もし、ワニのお葬式をして、それが済んでからの商品化なら批判を避けられたように思われます。

死を受け入れるには、亡き人(この場合はワニだけど)を悼む時間や儀礼が必要です。

"100nichigo ni shinu wani" (An alligator which dies after 100 days) is a topic recently. As soon as the story concluded, commercialization of that was announced one after another. Quite a few people criticize the commercialization. I think commercialization is not problem. If they had hold the alligator's funeral before announcing the commercialization, they would have been able to avoid these criticizes, I suppose.

We need time and ceremonies to adapt to someone's death.

最近、「アマビエ」の伝説が話題になっています。このような話です。
ある妖怪が肥後国(現在の熊本県)で見つかりました。その妖怪は人間に「アマビエ」と名のりました。アマビエは、6年間疫病が流行すると予言し、アマビエの絵を見せるよう告げて、消え去りました。
今、この伝説が知られるようになっています。これは、人類は理論的な思考だけでなく神秘的な話を必要としている、ということなのでしょう。

Recently, a folklore of "Amabie" becomes a topic. That folklore is following;
A monster was found in Higo province (current Kumamoto prefecture in Kyushu). The monster told people its name was Amabie. Amabie predicted that a plague would prevail for 6 years. Amabie suggested people that they look at paintings of Amabie. Then, Amabie left there.
Now, this folklore comes to be well known. It means that human beings need mysterious stories as well as logical thinking, I think.
I hope that the new coronavirus will come to an end soon.

申し訳ございませんが、築地本願寺銀座サロンでの予約は3月下旬に開始の予定です。新型コロナウイルスが早く終息することを願っています。

I am sorry that the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon does not accept the reservation yet. The reservation is expected to begin at late in March. I hope that the new coronavirus will come to an end soon.
