人は験担ぎしたくなる We like fortunate words

来年1月21日、落語を通して仏教に親しむイベント「銀座の落語寺」が、築地本願寺銀座サロンで開かれます。どちらも19時開演です。今回は三遊亭圓雀師匠の落語「かつぎや」、そして私が「験担ぎ」についてお話しします。

On January 21, 2021, "Ginza no Rakugodera" will be held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon. This is an event to like Buddhism through rakugo, Japanese traditional comic storytelling. It will begin at 7:00 p.m.
First, Mr. SANYUTEI Enjaku will perform a rakugo "Katsugiya" (A person who likes fortunate words). Next, I will talk about words which let our mind positive.

By the way, the name of the series of the event is written "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" on it. But, the name schedules to change to "GINZA NO RAKUGODERA".

1月21日は三遊亭圓雀師匠の落語「かつぎや」、そして私が「験担ぎ」についてお話しします。

3月11日は古今亭志ん吉さんの落語「二番煎じ」、そして私が「いざという時の備え」についてお話しします。

On January 21, 2021, and on March 11, 2021, "Ginza no Rakugodera" will be held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon. These are events to like Buddhism through rakugo, Japanese traditional comic storytelling. Both of them will begin at 7:00 p.m.
On January 21, Mr. SANYUTEI Enjaku will perform a rakugo "Katsugiya" (A person who likes fortunate words). And, I will talk about words which let our mind positive.
On March 11, Mr. KOKONTEI Shinkichi will perform a rakugo "Niban Senji" (Decocting medicinal herbs one more time). And, I will talk about measures against unexpected situations.

今日は成道会―お釈迦さまがさとりを開いた日― Today is the the day when the Buddha awakened

今日は、お釈迦様が悟りを開かれた日、成道会です。お釈迦様はおよそ2500年前、悟りを開いて、それを人々に伝えました。その教えが仏教です。それについての記事を『築地本願寺新報』に書かせて頂きましたので、読んでいただければありがたく思います。

インフルエンザ患者数激減 The number of patients with influenza is much fewer

この記事によりますと、今季のインフルエンザの患者数が去年と比べて激減しています。日本で今年11月16日から22日の患者数は46人、去年の同じ時期は約1万5000人でした。WHOは、手洗いや移動制限などが理由と分析しているとのことです。
This article says that the number of patients with influenza is much fewer this season than last year. The number of patients with it from this year's November 16 to 22 is 46 in Japan. It was approximately 15 thousand in the same term of last year. According to this article, WHO analyzed the reason is the measure against the new coronavirus, such as washing hands, restricting moving.

信心は成功への道 Faith can lead us to success

落語を通して仏教に親しむ企画「おてらくごのススメ」が11月19日、築地本願寺銀座サロンで開かれました。ご覧頂きありがとうございます。

まず、三笑亭可龍師匠に落語「三井の大黒」を演じて頂きました。このような話です。ある大工、ボーッとした雰囲気です。それが年末に1体の大黒天を彫ったら見事なできで、生きているかのようでした。これを、豪商・越後屋を営む三井家が高額で買い取ります。その大工は名工・左甚五郎でした。

その後、私がビジネスと宗教について話しました。三井家は大黒天を信仰していました。起業家には、宗教の教えを経営の理念にしている人がいます。宗教が成功のカギだったのではないかと、私は思っています。大切だけど目に見えないものがあります。神仏の行いもそうです。信心とは、そのはたらきを信じることです。神仏が私たちをどう見ているかを意識すれば、自分の行いを正そうとするようになります。そうすることで、信頼されやすくなります。だから、信心は成功への道になり得ます。

次回は来年1月21日の開催です。三遊亭圓雀師匠にお越し頂きます。

On November 19, "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME", an event to like Buddhism through rakugo was held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza salon. Thank you for watching it.

First, Mr. SANSHOTEI Karyu performed a rakugo "Mitsui No Daikoku" (A statue of Mahakala in Mitsui family). This story is the following; A carpenter, who looked vacuous, carved a small statue of Mahakala at an end of the year. It was marvelous, looked like alive. It was bought by Mitsui family for a large sum, who ran Echigoya, a successful mercer. That carpenter was Hidari Jingoro, one of the most skillful carpenter.
Next, I talked about the relationship between business and religion. Mitsui family had believed in Mahakala. Some entrepreneurs operated their companies based on religious teaching. I think that it was key to their success. Some important things are not able to be seen. The behavior of Buddha, god, and deities is one of them. Faith is to believe in their behavior. If we keep their eyes in mind, we are to try to redress our behavior. It makes us reliable. Therefore, faith can lead us to success.

We will hold the next time on January 21, 2021. Mr. SANYUTEI Enjaku will perform a rakugo at the event.
