落語を通して仏教に親しんでもらう企画「欲をかくから人間だ～おてらくごのススメ～」の案内が、築地本願寺銀座サロンのサイトの掲載されました。これで、インターネットからもお申込みになれます。
今回は、三遊亭春馬師匠に落語「寿限無」ともう一席を演じて頂き、その後に私が人間の欲についてお話しします。

An information of "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" has opened in the web site of the Tsukijihongwanji Ginza Solon. An aim of this event is that you like Buddhism through rakugo, Japanese traditional comic storytelling. First, Mr. SANYUTEI Haruba will perform rakugo "Jugemu" and a more one. Next, I will talk about human beings' desires.

2月8日、「おてらくごのススメ」が開かれました。ご来場頂きましたこと、御礼申し上げます。
また、三笑亭可龍師匠には落語「らくだ」を演じて頂きました。なかなか聞けない噺で、おおいに楽しませて頂きました。感謝申し上げます。
落語「らくだ」は、らくだとあだ名された男が亡くなったところから始まります。らくだの兄貴分はお葬式をしようとするのですが、らくだは長屋の嫌われ者で、らくだの死を喜ぶ始末。それでも無理矢理香典その他を調達し、らくだを火葬場に運びます。
お葬式をするのは、残された人が亡くなった人に挨拶をすることで、それによって心に区切りを付けるためです。挨拶がないまま別れると心がすっきりしないのは、相手が生きていても亡くなっていても、同じことです。亡くなった人への挨拶は、宗教がなくてもできます。亡くなった人がこの世からどこへ行ったかを語ることで、亡くなった人を行方不明にしない、これがお葬式を宗教で勤める意味です。
次回は来年3月8日(水)に開催予定です。三遊亭春馬師匠に「寿限無」を演じて頂きます。こちらにもぜひお越し下さい。

At February 8, "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" was held. Mr. SANSHOTEI Karyu performed "Rakuda". "Rakuda" is a rakugo, a Japanese traditional comic storytelling. Rakuda means camels, it is a man's nickname. A story of "Rakuda" is following: Rakuda was dead. His friend tried to bury him. He had few money. So, he forcibly raised necessity for the funeral.
We bury dead people to salute them. Without saluting either living people or dead ones, we would not clear our minds.
Religious tell us where dead people are gone. Therefore, they are not missing. It is significance that funerals are religious ceremonies.

大乗仏教の基本的な教えの一つに「空」があります。「空」は存在の否定と思われることがあります。しかし、「空」は存在の否定ではありません。永久不変なもの何一つはない、だから今の姿は一時的なものです。これが「空」です。「空」である存在を私たちが認識するのは、識のはたらきによるのです。

February 7, I lectured on the Consciousness-only doctrine of Buddhism at an extension lecture of Shukutoku University.
Sunya (emptiness) is one of important doctrines of Mahayana Buddhism. Sunya is often understood as a denial of existence. But, Sunya is not a denial of existence. Nothing is unchanging and everlasting. Thus, figures at the moment are provisional. This is Sunya. We recognize existence of Sunya because of processes of consciousness.
