7月9日(火)、落語を通して仏教に親しむ企画「おてらくごの」ススメが築地本願寺銀座サロンで開かれました。18名に方にお越し頂きました。ご来場に御礼申し上げます。
今回は三笑亭可龍師匠に落語「宗論」を演じて頂きました。落語「宗論」は、父親は浄土真宗に熱心なのに、息子がキリスト教徒になってしまい、親子で口論する話です。
その後に私が、「他の宗教との付き合い方」について話しました。宗教の違いが対立の種になることがあります。でも、宗教が違うことが対立の原因なのではありません。他の宗教に対して否定的な態度を取ると、それが対立になりやすくなります。と言うことは、他の宗教に否定的にならなければ、対立しないですむことになります。「これが正しい」は「これ以外は間違い」ではありません。お釈迦様は、仏教に供養するのが最も良いことだが、他の教えに供養するのも悪いことではないと説かれています。
On July 9, "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" was held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon. This was an event to like Buddhism though rakugo, Japanese trditional comic storytelling. 18 guests came there. Thank you for coming.
First, Mr. SANSHOTEI Karyu performed a rakugo "Shuron" (A debate on religion). That story was following; A father was faithful to Jodo Shinshu, a denomination of Buddhism. However, his adult son had become a Christian. Then, they disputed over their religions.
Next, I talked about how we got along with other religions. Conflicts with other religions often occur. However, it is not the reason of the conflicts that our religion is different from other's ones. When we are negative against other religions, we tend to be in conflict. Therefore, tolerating other religions produces peace. "This is correct" does not mean "Others are incorrect". Buddha preached us following; Offering to Buddhism is the best. However offering to other religions is also good.
