5月23日、落語を通して仏教に親しむイベント「おてらくごのススメ」が築地本願寺銀座サロンで開かれました。23名の方にお越し頂きました。ありがとうございます。
まず、古今亭志ん吉さんに落語「金明竹」を演じて頂きました。「金明竹」の主な登場人物に松公がいます。松公はおじさんの古道具屋で世話になっています。しかし、松公は接客の仕方をよくわかっていないので、いろいろと失敗します。
続いて、私が「わかっていないことをわかる」について話しました。的確な知識は、役立ちます。でも私たちは、わかったつもりになると、知ることをやめてしまいます。これでは、的確な知識を得られません。的確な知識がないと、失敗しやすくなります。
お釈迦さまは、「もしも愚者がみずから愚であると考えれば、すなわち賢者である。愚者でありながら、しかもみずから賢者だと思う者こそ、<愚者>だと言われる。」と説かれました。
私たちは、自分の無知を知ったらガッカリします。でも、自分の無知を知ることは、何か大切なことに気がつく手がかりになるのです。
On May 23, "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" was held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza solon. 23 guests came to the event. Thank you for coming. It is an event to like Buddhism through rakugo, Japanese traditional comic storytelling.
First, Mr. KOKONTEI Shinkichi performed a rakugo "Kinmeichiku". One of main characters of the story was Matsukoh, a young man. He worked at his uncle's store. He didn't know how to wait on customers, so he often failed it.
Next, I talked about finding our ignorance. Accurate knowledge helps us. But, when we are wise in our own conceit, we stop increasing our knowledge. It will lead us to lack of accurate knowledge. Lack of accurate knowledge can make us fail.
The Buddha preached following; If fools know that they are fools, they are wise. If fools call themselves wise in spite of their folly, they are really fools.
We are disappointed when we find our ignorance. But, we get clues to recognize something important if we find our ignorance.
