"OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" appears in "HANASHI", a website on rakugo.
"OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" is an event to like Buddhism through rakugo (Japanese traditional comic storytelling). It will be held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon on May 23. It will start at 7:00 p.m.

First, Mr. KOKONTEI Shinkichi will perform a rakugo "Kimmeichiku". Next, I will talk about noticing. We are looking forward to seeing you.

新しい時代、それぞれの道 The new era, our separate ways

新しい時代、令和が始まりました！
平成に感謝して令和を祝うイベントをした人もいれば、4月30日から5月1日にかけていつも通りに過ごした人もいます。
平成から令和への移り変わりを、それぞれの方法で過ごすことができる。素晴らしいことだと思います。
Reiwa, the new era has begun!
Some people had events to appreciate Heisei and to celebrate Reiwa. Others passed time as usual from April 30 through May 1.
We could spend the transition from Heisei to Reiwa on our separate ways. I think it was great.

令和を良い時代にしよう Let's make the era of Reiwa be good days

今日は平成の最終日です。
「次の令和がいい時代になるかな」という話を聞くことがあります。でも私は、令和が良い時代になることを願うよりも、私たちが良い時代にするべきものだと思います。
Today is the final day of the era of Heisei.
Some people hope that Reiwa, the next era will be good days. But, I think that we should make the new era be good, rather than we hope it will be good.

停滞も有益です Stagnation is also useful

この記事によりますと、「失敗しないこと」よりも「失敗から学ぶこと」、「絶えず成長すること」よりも「停滞期間を認めること」が大切とのことです。
ただし「停滞期間」とは、何もしない時期ではありません。努力しているのにその成果を見つけられない期間のことです。しようとしたことが失敗に終わったとしても、努力は後々の改善に結びきます。
自分であれ他人であれ、停滞期間を認めることができるようになりたいものです。

This article tells us that learning from fails is more useful than avoiding fails, accepting stagnation terms is more important than growing constantly.
But, "stagnation terms" does not mean idle time. Sometimes we can not find good results in spite of efforts. Such time is a "stagnation term".
Even though attempts result in failure, efforts will lead improvements in the future.
I wish I could admit stagnation terms of myself and other people.

新元号は「令和」 The new era name is "Reiwa"

新元号が「令和」に決まりました。世論調査によると、新元号「令和」に好感を持っている人が73%です。

各政党の反応を見てみると、共産党と社民党は元号の制度に否定的ですが、それ以外は新元号を歓迎しています。

上記の世論調査では、元号よりも西暦を使う人の方が多いのですが、元号の制度に批判的な意見は支持を得にくいようです。

Among political parties, The Japanese Communist party and The Social Democratic party are negative in the era name system. Though the other parties welcome it.

The opinion poll indicates that more people mainly use the Christian era than the era name. However, a negative view on the era name system seems to get a little support.
