お念仏を称えるのは何のため？

9月13日、落語を通して仏教に親しむ企画「おてらくごのススメ」が、築地本願寺銀座サロンで開かれました。20名弱の方にお越し頂きました。ありがとうございます。

まず、三遊亭春馬師匠に落語「花筏(はないかだ)」を演じて頂きました。この落語では、相撲の最中のお念仏を称える場面があります。

落語の後で、私がお念仏についてお話ししました。自分の力ではうまくいかないとき、人は他人を頼ります。他人に任せたら、何もしなくていいのではありません。その人のはたらきに報いることが必要です。これが、お念仏を称える理由です。
阿弥陀さまは、私たちすべてを救います。お念仏を称えることは、阿弥陀さまに感謝することです。そして、阿弥陀さまに報いることです。だから、お念仏を称えることが大切なのです。

At September 13, "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME", an event to like Buddhism through rakugo was held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon. Almost 20 people came the event. Thank you for coming.

First, Mr. SANYUTEI Haruba performed a rakugo "Hanaikada" ("Hanaikada" is a Sumo wrestler's name). At one scene of "Hanaikada", 2 Sumo wrestlers recite Nembutsu (calling Amitayus Buddha's name).

Next, I talked about Nembutsu. When you do not work well, you leave it to somebody's hands. After you leave it to somebody's hands, you should do reward their works. This is the reason why you recite Nembutsu.
Amitayus Buddha saves all beings. Reciting Nembutsu is expressing your gratitude to Amitayus Buddha. It is rewarding Amitayus Buddha. So, It is important to reciting Nembutsu.

仏教僧と戦争についての論文です

私の新しい論文が発行されました。仏教僧が戦争にどう関わったかを、『高僧伝』(中国の高僧の伝記集)をもとに調べました。
山喜房佛書林で出版されています。

My new thesis has been published. I researched how did Buddhist priests concern with wars through "Gao seng zhuan" , which is the biographies of Buddhist priests of high virtue in China.
It is published by Sankibou Busshorin.

9月1日は防災の日

9月1日夕刊と9月2日朝刊を読むと、関東大震災での朝鮮人虐殺についての記事が多くみられます。これは重要なことだから当然だけど、当時の地震被害や防災についての記事が乏しいように思います。これも大事なはずなのに。

9月1日は防災の日です。

I read newspapers of evening edition on September 1 and morning edition on September 2. There are many articles of the Korean massacres in the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 in them. It is natural because it is an important issue. But, I saw few articles on disasters at the earthquake and disaster prevention in them. These issues are also important, I believe.

September 1 is the Disaster Prevention Day.

即興劇とカウンセリング

8月26日(土)、日本臨床心理カウンセリング協会(JACC)のセミナーに行ってきました。私はJACCのカウンセラーの資格を持っています。

今回は、即興演劇をカウンセリングに応用することです。

劇をスムーズに進めるためには、アイコンタクトが欠かせません。これは劇だけでなく、カウンセリングや日常でも同じです。

そして、即興劇の一つに「チャンスゲーム」があります。

えらい人(殿様、社長など)に「大変です！」と事件を報告します。そしてえらい人は「それはちょうどいい！」と言って、ポジティブに返します。それを聞いた部下は、「さすが！」と言って拍手します。

例：家来「大変です！米がすべて枯れてしまいました」
　　殿様「それはちょうどいい！パン食にしようと思っていたところだ」
　　家来「さすが殿！」(拍手)

これは、物事をポジティブに捉える訓練になります。

I went to a seminar of the Japan Association of Clinical Counseling (JACC) at August 26. I have a license as a counselor of the JACC.

A theme of the seminar is applying improvisational theatres to counseling.

Eye contacts are necessary to push forward dramas smoothly. The eye contacts are important in not only dramas but also counseling, daily lives.

A kind of improvisational theatres is a chance game. It is following:

A person reports an accident to his/her superior (for example, a lord, a president, etc.). The superior replies in a positive way. The subordinates say "That's great!", and clap their hands.

Example:
Vassal "Oh no! Rice are all dead!"
Lord "It's good! I've wanted to change staple foods from rice to breads"
Vassal "That's great!" (The vassals clap their hands)

This is a training of thinking in a positive way.
