人は思いがけなく良いことをする場合があります

5月23日(火)、落語を通して仏教に親しむ企画「おてらくごのススメ」が、築地本願寺銀座サロンで開かれました。お越し頂き、ありがとうございます。

今回は古今亭志ん吉さんに落語「夏泥」を演じて頂きました。この落語では、泥棒がある家に入ったのですが、その家があまりにも貧乏なので、それを泥棒が見かねて、泥棒が家の人にお金をあげるのです。

私たちの行動は、予想外の結果となることがよくあります。だから、人は、悪気がなくても他人を傷つけてしまうことがあります。そして、気がつかないうちに人助けをする場合もあるのです。

At May 23, "OTERAKUGO NO SUSUME" , an event to like Buddhism through rakugo was held at the Tsukiji Hongwanji Ginza Salon. Thank you for coming.

Mr. KOKONTEI Shinkichi performed a rakugo "Natsu Doro (Summer Thief)" . A thief intruded a house, an inhabitant of the house was too poor. The thief had compassion on him, the thief gave him money.
Our deeds often result against expectation. So, we can hurt others though we try to do good. And, we may unknowingly help someone.

寺院や神社が身近にあった人は幸福度が高い

大竹文雄・大阪大学教授の論文「寺院・地蔵・神社の社会・経済的帰結：ソーシャル・キャピタルを通じた所得・幸福度・健康への影響」によると、子供時代に寺院や神社が身近にあった人は、幸福度が高いとのことです。宗教の意義を示す、興味深い論文です。

Dr. Fumio Ohtake, a professor of the Osaka University states that who have spent close to Buddhist temples or Shinto shrines in their childhood have higher levels of happiness. It is an interesting thesis showing significance of religions.

放置禁止とお坊さん

三田(東京都港区)で見かけた、「バイク・自転車放置禁止」の看板です。お坊さんのイラストがあるのはなぜだろう？

This is a board "Do not abandon motorcycles and bicycles" at Mita, Minato city, Tokyo. Why is a Buddhist priest illustrated on it?

「カラス侵入禁止」でカラスが来ない

朝日新聞によると、岩手県大槌町(おおつちちょう)にある東京大学の研究施設で、「カラス侵入禁止」と書いた紙をつるしたら、カラスが来なくなったそうです。

おまじないにも効果があると言うことでしょうか？人類は古くからおまじないをしてきました。

According to Asahi Shinbun, since papers written "No entry, crows" were hanged at a research facility of the University of Tokyo at Otsuchi town, Iwate prefecture, crows have not approached there.

Does it means that spells have effects? Human beings have used spells since ancient times.

研修会の講師をしてきました

4月27日(木)、静岡東組の総代研修会のため、寳專寺様(静岡県伊東市)に伺い、「総代の役務」のテーマでお話しさせて頂きました。このようなご縁を頂き、有難く思います。

子供達は毎日学校に通います。でも、学力をつけるためには、家庭学習の習慣が必要です。教えを後々に伝えるためには、家庭での習慣が必要です。そのためには、僧侶だけではなく、門徒の方々の協力が必要です。

境内の美しいお寺です。

At April 27, I visited Hosenji at Ito city, Shizuoka prefecture. A seminar for representatives of adherents was held at the temple. I talked about roles of representatives of adherents at the seminar.

Children go to school everyday. But, habits of home study are necessary. Habits in home are necessary to pass religious down to posterity. Thus, it is needed that not only priests but adherents make efforts it.

The garden of the temple is beautiful.

人間は良くて悪い～おてらくごのススメ～

寄席情報の月刊誌『東京かわら版』5月号が届きました。102ページに5月23日開催の、「おてらくごのススメ」の情報が掲載されました。
古今亭志ん吉さんに「夏泥」を演じて頂きます。そして私が「人間って良いの？悪いの？」と題して、人間の善悪についてお話しします。
「夏泥」は仏教と直接関係ありませんが、この落語には人間の良さと悪さが見えてきます。
